Good quality photography equipment can help photographers produce beautiful images. From flash diffusers to lens filters, it can be difficult to know which items are essential when it comes to putting together your kit.

The first investment for anyone that is serious about photography, after a camera, is a good quality tripod. From compact and modern designs like gorilla pods to classic high rise camera tripod or poles, there are many styles and designs available. Tripods hold your camera steady whilst you take pictures, you will also be able to take shots from angles that you may find impossible to obtain if you were trying to get your body behind the shot. When a tripod is used well, you can be guaranteed to get crisp, sharp images every single time. If you are investing in a tripod, it is perhaps worth getting a remote shutter release device as well. These allow you to create group shots or even do self-portraits. Even the simplest shot can be made better by using a shutter release and a tripod, eliminating every hint of blur or wobble.

There is nothing worse than getting into a day of shooting and running out of power, to overcome this try and make sure that you have one or two spare, fully charged, camera batteries in your kit bag too. If you plan to be away overnight or are going on holiday, make sure you take the charging unit as well as you can charge the batteries in a hotel room if necessary. The cost of camera batteries does vary between manufacturers. Whilst you will often see cheaper alternatives available from abroad or over the internet, make sure you know the quality of the battery you are buying. Some of the non-branded camera batteries may be of dubious quality meaning they may not hold their charge as long and may have a shorter lifespan than some of their counterparts.
